Major Research Interests

Mental disorders interest me from scientific, societal and personal perspectives. My PhD dissertation on systemic metabolic alterations in adolescent psychiatric outpatients is focused on disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), major depression disorder (MDD), psychotic disorders (PD) and alcohol and substance abuse. Serum samples from the patients are being analyzed with ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (UPLS-MS).

In addition, I am interested in the connectivity of the brain, cognition, brain imaging with magnetoencephalography (MEG) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).

Other Interests

Outside science, I love arts. I paint and play musical instruments. I also enjoy sports such as horse riding, running, yoga and swimming. In addition, time spent in nature is time well spent.
