Welcome to the joint seminar of Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics (BioMEP) and Genetics and Mechanisms in Translational Medicine (GenomMed) doctoral programmes!
The BioMEP and GenomMed doctoral programmes are in their last years of activity. Therefore in this seminar, all BioMEP and GenomMed early stage researchers present a summary of their PhD thesis projects. In addition, there are two plenary lectures from keynote speakers.
The seminar is held online on February 24-26 2021 and the scientific presentations on February 25 and 26 are open for all.
Biomedical Engineering and Medical Physics (BioMEP) and Genetics and Mechanisms in Translational Medicine (GenomMed) are MSCA COFUND funded doctoral programs that aim to train international experts for the needs of academic, healthcare and industry sector, and thus to meet the increasing demands of the European labour market.
University of Eastern Finland coordinates two out three MSCA COFUND doctoral programs in Finland. Only five institutions in Europe had two or more doctoral program projects funded during the call period of 2014-2017, where in total 53 doctoral programs were selected for funding with total costs of 290 000 000 €.
These doctoral programs at the University of Eastern Finland are co-funded by Horizon 2020 Framework Programme of the European Union (Marie Skłodowska Curie grant agreement numbers 740264 and 713645).
