{"id":2407,"date":"2021-09-24T14:44:11","date_gmt":"2021-09-24T11:44:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.uef.fi\/biophysics\/?page_id=2407"},"modified":"2024-02-19T18:15:37","modified_gmt":"2024-02-19T16:15:37","slug":"spectroscopy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.uef.fi\/biophysics\/spectroscopy\/","title":{"rendered":"Spectroscopy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) and Raman spectroscopy devices<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We have the following FTIR and Raman spectroscopy devices at our disposal at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uef.fi\/en\/unit\/sib-labs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>SIB-Labs<\/strong><\/a> at the University of Eastern Finland.<br><br><strong>Perkin Elmer Spotlight 300<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have Perkin Elmer Spotlight 300 FTIR microscope for rapid spectroscopic imaging. The instrument can be used for transmission and reflection measurements. The two-in-one (NBMCT array and MBMCT single element) detector offers exceptional detection range (7800-700 cm-1 for imaging and 7800-600 cm <sup>-1<\/sup> for point mode). Pixel size of either 6.25 \u00b5m or 25 \u00b5m can be used for imaging. For point measurements, the pixel size can be freely adjusted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"204\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.uef.fi\/biophysics\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/87\/2021\/09\/spotlight300.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2416\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.uef.fi\/biophysics\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/87\/2021\/09\/spotlight300.jpg 500w, https:\/\/sites.uef.fi\/biophysics\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/87\/2021\/09\/spotlight300-300x122.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>Fig 1.<\/strong> Perkin Elmer Spotlight 300 FTIR microscope.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thermo Nicolet Nexus 8700<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For traditional FTIR spectroscopy, we have Thermo Nicolet Nexus 8700 spectrometer. Nexus 8700 is equipped with extended beamsplitter, two light sources, DTGS and middleband MCT detectors and various sampling options. The microscope is equipped with two excitation lasers (785 nm and 532 nm).
