Conversion processes
Antti HAAPALA, Nikolaos PAPAMATTHAIAKIS
Summary
This lectures review briefly different technological means to convert biomass to energy, different energy carrier products and relevant issues in selecting and designing viable processes. In addition, give an overview of the main steps related with pellet production, such as types of biomass resources and differences among them, mechanical and physical properties, and hints of how to improve pellets,. In addition, a brief description of the recent status of the pellet production and consumption is presented as well. Lastly, future perspectives of pellets use and what are the benefits that derive from it.
