Sustainable Management of Forest Resources

Introduction

Sustainable Management of Forest Resources (SUFORE) in a doctoral network project funded by the Chinese Scholarship Council. It establishes a collaborative framework to promote sustainable forest resource management. The project provides scholarships and travel funding for Chinese doctoral students to complete degrees in the two partner institutions. The project emphasizes innovative research, knowledge exchange, and academic cooperation to address challenges in forestry and environmental sciences. By leveraging expertise from three institutions, NWAFU, UEF and SLU, the program aims to develop advanced management practices, improve ecosystem resilience, and enhance capacity building in sustainable forestry.

The goals of the project is to foster academic and research collaboration in forestry and environmental sciences, enhance innovation and knowledge exchange through joint research projects, seminars, and academic programs, promote sustainable forest management practices that contribute to environmental resilience and biodiversity conservatio, strengthen international cooperation and capacity building in sustainable forestry through educational programs and training.

Financing

Budget (UEF): 201 900 EUR for the period of 2022-2028 (3 doctoral candidates), and 74 000 for the period 2018-2022 (1 doctoral candidate).
