Executive director of the \u201cCenter for Civil Liberties\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Romantsova Oleksandra was born on December 17, 1985 in the city of Mykolaiv, Ukraine’s largest shipbuilding industrial center, located in the south. The city is now the site of the main defensive and offensive battles in the opposition to Russian aggression in the south of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
After graduating from school, he moved to study at the private University of Economics and Law KROK in Kyiv, where he obtained a Master’s degree in International Economics from the Faculty of International Relations, received a second Master’s degree in Project Management after a couple of years, and at the end of 2021, she obtained a master’s degree in conflict management and mediation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon completion of the University studies, Oleksandra worked for 7 years at the head office of the international financial group BNP Paribas in Ukraine, where he worked in the corporate education system, managed communications and training projects for reforming the banking branch network, and after few years joined the process of signing large system banking contracts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Starting with the tragic Euromaidan`s evening of November 30, 2013, Oleksandra became an active volunteer at the public initiative “Euromaidan-SOS”, which was based at the Center for Civil Liberty during all the period of Euromaidan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since May 2014, Oleksandra has started her professional career as a human rights defender at the Center for Civil Liberties (CCL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since March 2014, Oleksandra’s first project was monitoring and documenting human rights violations and political persecution in Crimea, where the Russian occupation was taking place. At the same time, as part of the #LetMyPeopleGo campaigns, she began working on creating lists of politically motivated arrests in Crimea and Russia, and advocating at the national level the issue of Ukraine\u2019s active policy to protect its citizens – political prisoners of the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From May 2014 until end of 2016 – Oleksandra coordinated the project of mobile observation of human rights violations and war crimes in eastern Ukraine in the area of ATO and keep monitoring political persecution in the occupied Crimea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The mobile groups were consisted of volunteers, lawyers, civil society activists, human rights defenders, and journalists. They were trained first, after – go to the territory of ATO, and collect evidence of human rights violations and war crimes during the conflict in Donbas. Besides coordination of that project, Oleksandra also traveled in CCL\u2019s and international mobile monitoring groups in the east of Ukraine more than 40 times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n
From 2015 until now, Oleksandra is also responsible for the international advocacy of the results CCL`s activity. As part of this responsibility, it constantly cooperates with international organizations: OSCE, EU, UN, the Council of Europe, as well as international human rights organizations and their associations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since September 2017, Oleksandra is the Executive director of the \u201cCenter for Civil Liberties\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From February 24, 2022, he also coordinates the direction of Documentation of war crimes and advocacy of documentation results as part of the global initiative “Tribunal for Putin”. Participates in field missions in the Kyiv region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At May 2023 she became a graduate Program on Human Rights and Social Justice at The Duke Center for International Development (DCID), at Duke University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
