Oksana Lebedieva (she\/her, b. April 24, 1985, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia) is a Ukrainian public figure, human rights advocate, and the Founder and CEO of Gen.Ukrainian, a non-profit organization dedicated to the psychological rehabilitation of children affected by the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born into a military and medical family, Oksana studied Sociology and Law at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. She began her career in national media, working with major media holdings such as Starlight Media, Ukraine TV channel, UMH group, and Edipresse Media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


In response to Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Oksana founded Gen.Ukrainian in March 2022 to address the unprecedented mental health crisis facing Ukrainian children. The organization focuses on supporting children and adolescents who have suffered trauma due to war-related experiences such as the loss of parents, occupation, captivity, or forced deportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


In August 2022, Oksana and her team launched Gen.Camp, a 21-day intensive rehabilitation program designed to help children process grief and trauma in a safe and supportive environment. Since its inception, over 500 Ukrainian children have completed the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


In June 2024, Oksana co-created the art project CRYONES, which includes a bilingual art book featuring original artwork and stories of 15 children who went through Gen.Camp. The book documents war crimes against children and highlights their strength and resilience. In December 2024, CRYONES was named Book of the Month at the Bodleian Library in Oxford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond her work with Gen.Ukrainian, Oksana is an active public speaker, using international platforms to raise awareness of the devastating impact of war on Ukrainian children\u2019s mental health, education, and development. Since 2024, she has served on the Board of Trustees of the International Ukrainian School State Lyceum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
