We have been leading and participating in several international research, development, and capacity building projects funded from various EU frameworks (Horizon 2020, Erasmus+, ESF, ERDF), as well as by Academy of Finland, Business Finland (former TEKES), Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and several other funding institutions and mechanisms.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to institutionally funded external projects, our researchers have been granted with individual working grants for PhD studies or post-doc research periods by various foundations and agencies (for example Finnish Cultural Foundation working grants, EDUFI Fellowships, Emil Aaltonen Foundation grants).<\/p>\n<h3>Current external funding<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.generation-ai-stn.fi\/\">Generation AI<\/a> &#8211; The Generation AI project provides a solid foundation for educating the \u201cGeneration AI\u201d on the defining technology of their era: Its mechanisms, opportunities, and dynamics \u2014 but also its weaknesses, biases, and risks, and how it can be used to discriminate, polarize, create insecurity, and break trust (Research Council of Finland, 2022-2028). Educational resources developed during the project can be accessed here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gen-ai.fi\/en\">https:\/\/www.gen-ai.fi\/en<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.simonsproject.eu\">SIMOnS<\/a> &#8211; The SIMOns project aims to promote civic participation and critical thinking through digital technologies (Erasmus+ KA2 Cooperation Partnerships, 2023-2026)<\/li>\n<li>NordRAI &#8211; The NordRAI project investigates how generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is transforming collaborative learning and teaching in higher education across the Nordic region (NordForsk, 2026-2028)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/fcai.fi\/ai-doc\/\">AI-DOC<\/a> &#8211; The Finnish Doctoral Program Network in Artificial Intelligence (AI-DOC) is a world-class PhD program with quality supervision, mobility, and multi-disciplinarity as integral parts (Ministry of Education and Culture, 2024-2028)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.softwareengineering.fi\/\">FAST<\/a> &#8211; The Finnish Software Engineering Doctoral Research Network aims to improve doctoral education in software engineering in Finland, aligning it with real-world industry and societal needs, and promoting higher-level academic-industry collaboration (Ministry of Education and Culture, 2024-2028)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/endgameproject.github.io\/\">ENDGAME<\/a> &#8211; ENDGAME is an innovative European project aimed at cultivating critical thinking and responsible digital citizenship among European youth through educational escape rooms that simulate real-life scenarios of information consumption (Creative Europe, 2025-2027)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Past external funding (since 2014)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/robosteamsen.eu\">ROBOSTEAMSEN<\/a> &#8211; The RoboSteamsen project intends to understand disabled students needs and adapting robotics and active learning methodologies to their different disabilities in order to personalise their learning (Erasmus+ KA Coopertation partnership, 2023 &#8211; 2025)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ecalfor.eu\/en\/ecalfor\/\">ECALFOR<\/a> \u2013 Evaluation of Teacher Training in Latin America and the Caribbean.
