The Languages and Language Education Research Seminar<\/strong> provides a venue for presentations on a broad range of topics in the fields of linguistics and other language studies, including the fields of translation and language education. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The research seminar was previously called the Humanities Research Seminar. In the fall semester 2026, it has been re-launched with a new title and a more specific focus on language-related research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the academic year 2026-2027, the seminar takes place every two weeks on Tuesdays from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m.<\/strong> The seminar is organised in hybrid format. The on-campus location is announced in the schedule below. For the remote link, please contact the seminar organiser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar is open to all researchers interested in the fields of linguistics and other language studies<\/strong>. The main working language of the seminar is English<\/strong>, but presentations may also be held in Finnish<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar features presentations by by FILOTO<\/a> doctoral<\/strong> researchers<\/strong>, junior and senior staff<\/strong> at the School of Humanities, and guest researchers<\/strong>. It may also include training sessions<\/strong> (e.g., on digital platforms or research tools) and discussion meetings<\/strong> (e.g., on research ethics or methodological issues). The type of meeting is indicated in the schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doctoral researchers who wish to present (and obtain ECTS credits as part of their doctoral studies) are asked to contact the organiser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suggestions for other presentations and potential speakers are also warmly welcomed from all members of staff. Please contact the seminar organiser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
