Joensuu can be easily reached by air via Helsinki, and there are several train and coach connections daily from Helsinki, Tampere, Turku, and many other cities in Finland.

Joensuu is located along National Road 6. The airport is in Liperi, 11 kilometres from the city centre. The university’s main campus is two kilometres from the railway station.

Joensuu Campus is compact and easy to walk and cycle between campus buildings.
