The&nbsp;annual publication&nbsp;is&nbsp;intended&nbsp;to&nbsp;disseminate&nbsp;research produced by universities&nbsp;engaged&nbsp;in the&nbsp;study and teaching of&nbsp;home economics to home economics&nbsp;educators and other experts in the field, thereby promoting the&nbsp;quality&nbsp;and appreciation of home economics education.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Proceedings, instructions for authors\/27.2.2026<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authors are invited to&nbsp;submit&nbsp;a two-page extended abstract presenting their proposed conference paper (phase 1). The extended abstract will serve as the basis for the&nbsp;selection&nbsp;of contributions invited to&nbsp;submit&nbsp;a full-length paper in Conference Proceedings (phase 2).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conference Proceedings will be published by Finnish Home Economics Association (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kotitalousopettajat.fi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.kotitalousopettajat.fi\/<\/a>) in its Annual&nbsp;Year Book, vol. 2 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kotitalousopettajat.fi\/vuosikirja\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.kotitalousopettajat.fi\/vuosikirja\/<\/a>). In this special issue, full articles can be written in English \/ Finnish \/ Swedish with summary in Finnish \/ Swedish.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important dates:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proposal of the article (extended abstract, max. 2 pages) by 19.10.2026&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notification of accepted proposals by 30.10.2026&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deadline for&nbsp;submitting&nbsp;the full paper by 14.12.2026&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Double-blind peer review process in January 2027&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notification of the results\u202f(accept \/ revise \/ reject) of the review process in February 2027&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Phase 1: Extended abstracts by 19.10.2026<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Propose an article with an extended abstract by 19.10.2026. The purpose of the extended abstract is to clearly communicate:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the\u00a0focus\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0study\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>its conceptual and\/or empirical contribution\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>its relevance to the field of Home Economics\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Submissions may report on completed studies, ongoing research, or well-developed research designs. Submissions must be original and not previously published.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notification of accepted proposals will be given by 30.10.2026&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Length and Format<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maximum length: 2 pages (references not included, author name(s), affiliation(s), and contact details should be provided on a separate cover\u00a0page.)\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Font: Open Sans, 11 pt\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Line\u00a0spacing: 1\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Margins: 2.5 cm\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Referencing style: APA7\u00a0<br>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The extended abstract should be written in clear academic English \/ Finnish \/ Swedish.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Extended abstracts do not need to be anonymized.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Extended abstracts should be&nbsp;submitted&nbsp;as a Word document (.docx) via Finnish Home Economics Association\u2019s Annual&nbsp;Year book&nbsp;submission system (link will be added later).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Structure<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The extended abstract should include the following elements:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Title<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A concise and informative title.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.&nbsp;Background&nbsp;and&nbsp;Aim<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Introduce\u00a0the research topic. Indicate the stage of the research (planned, ongoing, completed).\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clarify the problem or gap addressed.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>State the aim and\/or research questions.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3.&nbsp;Conceptual&nbsp;Framework<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Present key concepts and\/or theoretical perspective.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Situate the study within relevant research.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. Data and&nbsp;Methods<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Outline methods of data collection and describe data if applicable.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Outline methods of data analysis if applicable.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5. Preliminary Findings \/ Expected Contributions<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Present key findings\/Outline expected insights and contributions.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Explain how the study contributes to the field of research.\u00a0<br>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Evaluation Criteria<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Extended abstracts will be evaluated based on:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Relevance and contribution to the field of Home Economics\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Conceptual\u00a0and\u00a0methodological\u00a0clarity\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Overall\u00a0coherence\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Submission of an extended abstract does not guarantee an invitation to&nbsp;submit&nbsp;a full paper.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Use of Generative AI<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Extensive use of generative AI in the research process related to the article or in the writing process must be reported at the end of the extended abstract with the name of the tool, the version used, the date of use, the manner of use, and the stage and purpose for which the tool was applied. The use of generative AI for minor language editing (e.g., grammar, spelling, or style suggestions) does not need to be reported.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The author&nbsp;is responsible for&nbsp;their use of generative AI and for any errors produced by it, such as inaccuracies, biases, ethical concerns, and the possibility of unintentional plagiarism.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Phase 2: Full papers by 14.12.2026<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authors whose proposals are accepted will be invited to&nbsp;submit&nbsp;a full paper.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The maximum length of published full papers is 60,000 characters, including spaces. The abstract, references, figure captions, and table texts are not included in the character count.
