IFHE European Annual Meeting & Thematic Conference 2026 in Finland, Joensuu<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

THEME:<\/strong> Rethink and Re-organise \u2013 Home Economics bringing preparedness and resilience to everyday life<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are excited to announce the Save the Date<\/em> information for the Conference 2026, to be held in Joensuu, Finland, on October 5-6, 2026. The thematic conference\u2019s theme focuses on the vital role of Home Economics in fostering preparedness and resilience in our daily lives. We invite researchers, educators, and practitioners to submit their work related to the following areas: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exploring innovative approaches to managing household resources, sustainability practices, and enhancing quality of life through effective home management. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigating the intersection of traditional crafts and modern techniques, promoting sustainable craftsmanship, and preserving cultural heritage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Examining educational strategies and methodologies for teaching Home Economics including curriculum development, experiential learning, and community engagement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We welcome presentations that address the theme through various lenses, including but not limited to: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Repair:<\/strong> Techniques for repairing and maintaining household items and crafts to extend their lifespan and reduce consumption. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    • Rethink:<\/strong> Innovative ideas for reimagining home and craft practices to align with sustainable living and resilience. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      • Re-organise:<\/strong> Approaches to reorganizing home and craft spaces to enhance functionality, efficiency, and preparedness. Strategies for minimizing waste (e.g. textile waste, food waste and electricity, water etc.) and optimizing resource use in home and craft practices. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        TEEMA: Uudelleenajattelu ja uudelleenorganisointi \u2013 Kotitaloustiede vahvistamassa arjen valmiuksia ja resilienssi\u00e4<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Voimme ylpeydell\u00e4 esitell\u00e4, ett\u00e4 vuoden 2026 konferenssi j\u00e4rjestet\u00e4\u00e4n Joensuussa, Suomessa, 5.\u20136. lokakuuta 2026<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Konferenssin teemana on kotitaloustieteen rooli arjen valmiuden ja resilienssin vahvistamisessa<\/strong>. Kutsumme tutkijoita, opettajia ja alan ammattilaisia esittelem\u00e4\u00e4n ty\u00f6t\u00e4\u00e4n seuraavien aihealueiden parissa: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Kotitalouden resurssien hallinta ja kest\u00e4vyys:<\/strong> Uusien innovatiivisten l\u00e4hestymistapojen tutkiminen kotitalouden resurssien hallintaan, kest\u00e4vien k\u00e4yt\u00e4nt\u00f6jen edist\u00e4miseen ja el\u00e4m\u00e4nlaadun parantamiseen tehokkaan kotitalouden hoidon kautta. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          • Perinteiset k\u00e4sity\u00f6taidot ja nykyaikaiset tekniikat:<\/strong> Perinteisen k\u00e4sity\u00f6n ja modernien menetelmien yhdist\u00e4minen kest\u00e4v\u00e4n k\u00e4sity\u00f6perinteen tukemiseksi ja kulttuuriperinn\u00f6n s\u00e4ilytt\u00e4miseksi. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            • Kotitalousopetuksen strategiat ja menetelm\u00e4t:<\/strong> Kotitalousalan opetukseen liittyvien pedagogisten ratkaisujen, opetussuunnitelmien, kokemuksellisen oppimisen ja yhteis\u00f6yhteisty\u00f6n tarkastelu. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
