{"id":1253,"date":"2024-02-01T15:24:31","date_gmt":"2024-02-01T13:24:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.uef.fi\/kasvuasammalesta\/front-page\/"},"modified":"2025-04-30T13:41:47","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T11:41:47","slug":"front-page","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.uef.fi\/kasvuasammalesta\/front-page\/?lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Growth from moss North Karelia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Growth from Moss North Karelia is a <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.uef.fi\/kasvuasammalesta\/introduction\/?lang=en\">JTF project<\/a> by the University of Eastern Finland (1.1.2024-31.5.2026) that aims to develop the cultivation of sphagnum mosses on former peat production areas. The goal of the cultivation is to find a solution to replace horticultural peat with renewable moss biomass production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the project&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.uef.fi\/kasvuasammalesta\/pilot-areas\/?lang=en\">pilot areas<\/a>, we develop solutions for the establishment of cultivation areas, water management, and growth optimization. Growth conditions are also studied in a <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.uef.fi\/kasvuasammalesta\/test-laboratory\/?lang=en\">greenhouse setting<\/a>.
