Her dissertation examined the multilocal everyday lives of Finnish nurses commuting to Norway. Before embarking on her academic career, Katja worked for 20 years as a registered nurse in intensive care units and operating rooms in both Finland and Norway. Her doctoral research revealed that Finnish nurses commuting to Norway are predominantly peri-menopausal women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Katja now works as a postdoctoral researcher in our project&nbsp;<em>Menopausing: Exploring Diversity, Awareness, and Activism<\/em>. In this role, she continues to investigate the transnational networks of Finnish nurses between Finland and Norway. Her primary focus is on understanding how commuting nurses navigate and sustain their multilocal existence. By exploring this question, she contributes to the discourse on the multilocal everyday lives of Finnish nurses and the evolving labour market of a female-dominated sector. Sairaanhoitajan ty\u00f6t\u00e4 on pidetty p\u00e4\u00e4s\u00e4\u00e4nt\u00f6isesti yksipaikkaisena ja paikkasidonnaisena, mutta monipaikkainen ty\u00f6skentely yksityisten rekrytointifirmojen kautta on yleistym\u00e4ss\u00e4 pikkuhiljaa my\u00f6s Suomen ty\u00f6- ja hoivamarkkinoilla. T\u00e4m\u00e4n vuoksi on t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 nostaa keskusteluun mit\u00e4 sairaanhoitajat kertovat ammatillisesta toimijuudestaan.<\/p>\n<p>Artikkeli perustuu etnografiseen aineistoon, jonka temaattisista haastatteluista (n=17) Laakkonen on nostanut sairaanhoitajien kokemuksia ammatillisesta toimijuudesta sek\u00e4 Suomessa ett\u00e4 Norjassa. Aineistoa on analysoitu tulkitsemalla siit\u00e4 ammatilliseen toimijuuteen kiinnittyvi\u00e4 ulottuvuuksia, erityisesti ty\u00f6h\u00f6n liittyvi\u00e4 vaikutusmahdollisuuksia. Norja merkitsee t\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen sairaanhoitajille k\u00e4\u00e4nnett\u00e4, jossa monipaikkaisuus n\u00e4hd\u00e4\u00e4n keinona hallita ammatillista toimijuutta.
