Instructions for participants

To make your experience safe and comfortable, please read these instructions for participants before arriving at the workshop:

• The event is for registered participants only.
• To register successfully, you must be a national of a NATO-allied country or a partner country. You must also come from one of these countries.
• We have hotel discount codes for participants coming out of town. Send email to alicja.fajfer(at)uef.fi to redeem your code.
• Please have a valid official ID with you and present it to the registration personnel to get your badge.
• You must wear your badge visibly at all times. If you forget or lose your badge, contact the organizing team for a new one.
• Never leave your belongings unattended.
• Do not take photos or videos without permission.
• If you have any questions, the organizing team will be happy to assist you.

ARRIVAL instructions for invited guests

Our team will be at the Joensuu airport on 30.9 (evening) and 1.10 (morning). Our representative will hand you a bus ticket. Please take the bus no. 6 – it will be the only bus service.

If the flight is delayed by more than 40 minutes, the bus will not wait. If you miss it, please take a taxi. You will find a phone number to order a taxi in the arrival hall.

If you arrive by train, you can choose to walk to the university (about 30 min). There are also several bus lines (see route planner), electric scooters or taxis available. Please have some change for the bus, as card payment is not always available. More info about bus services.

DEPARTURE instructions

The airport bus no. 6 leaves from the stop on Koskikatu street 65 minutes before the flight’s scheduled departure. It is enough time 🙂

Please file your reimbursement claim immediately after the event. We will provide more instructions by email.
