{"id":224,"date":"2024-09-03T07:21:28","date_gmt":"2024-09-03T07:21:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.uef.fi\/novel\/?page_id=224"},"modified":"2026-03-30T16:20:35","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T14:20:35","slug":"frontpage","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.uef.fi\/novel\/","title":{"rendered":"NOVEL MSCA Postdoctoral Programme"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Welcome to NOVEL: a pioneering Postdoctoral Programme at the University of Eastern Finland<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NOVEL is an innovative postdoctoral programme hosted by the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) in Finland, co-funded by the Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Action (MSCA) COFUND under the European Union\u2019s Horizon Europe programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NOVEL offers 14 postdoctoral fellowships in brain health research across different disciplines with the opportunity to design your own research project for 3 years.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The world needs novel solutions to address brain health challenges that impact individuals and society. Research is needed to support early prediction, personalized treatments, advancements in methods and technologies, and the development of responsible innovation and ethical approaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To address this, NOVEL focuses on pioneering research in brain health. We combine expertise in <strong>neuroscience, data science, innovation management, health economics, and legal studies.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our programme provides interdisciplinary and intersectoral postdoctoral training in four key areas of brain health research:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Prevention &amp; Care<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Methods &amp; Data<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Innovation in Society<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ethics &amp; Well-being<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At NOVEL, we offer postdoctoral researchers the opportunity to conduct high-impact research supported by top-tier training. By integrating UEF\u2019s world-class neuroscience expertise with innovation management and social, legal, and data science expertise, the programme fosters unique interdisciplinary competence and prepares future leaders in brain health research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What sets NOVEL apart is its comprehensive approach to cultivating talent through interdisciplinary and intersectoral training. Researchers will benefit from a collaborative environment enriched by robust regional and national partnerships, creating a vibrant research community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key Dates<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The first call for applications was open from March 1 to May 31, 2025.
