Option 1: Lake Cruise & Finnish Traditions – Without Sauna

Do you dream of having a relaxing day experience of a cruise, traditional Finnish food and the possibility of swimming in the natural lake of Kallavesi? Also, a sauna experience is possible if you are brave enough to have a go! Would you enjoy bringing home some traditional Finnish group dance skills as a take-home message?

To: Saana restaurant and Sauna Spa in Bellanranta
Cruise on Kallavesi Lake (40 min.) by m/s Queen R to Saana restaurant

At the beautiful Scandinavian Saana restaurant by the lake, we will have a welcome toast, Finnish-style rich and diverse buffet lunch including salad table, main course with beverages (e.g. milk, juice, water), dessert and coffee or tea. Refreshments are included in the price.

After lunch is time for Finnish Country dance exercise and networking.

Return to the city Centre by public bus transport, distance under 10 min. Bus stop next to the restaurant, buses go every 15 minutes)

Tickets for the event must be reserved and purchased when registering for the Conference.

Sauna, Smoke Sauna, ans/or SPA experience and swimming in the lake or pool are available. Bring your swimsuit! You can rent bath towel or bathrobe from Saana.

Option 3: Dinner Cruise and Key-Night Lesson – Experience bright night!

In case you are rather a late day bird, you will have a possibility for a late-night dinner cruise by Kallavesi, immersed with a sunny night and fascinating Key-Night lesson about the meaning of sleep. During both activities you will have great networking and discussing possibilities with your international conference colleagues!

After dinner, we will have a fascinating “Key-Night” Lecture: Seasons of the Mind in Finland: Navigating Through Midnight Sun and Polar Night by Dr Lauri Kuosmanen, PhD, RN, University Lecturer, Adjunct Professor, Department of Nursing Science, Faculty of Health Sciences, UEF.

Conference Reception and Dinner

The main conference reception will be held at the at Kuopio City Hall. Kuopio City warmly welcomes all guests. Delegates will enjoy drinks and canapés during the event. Attendance is free of charge, but please make sure to book your place when registering for the Conference.

Conference Dinner

Venue: Scandic Kuopio, Satamakatu 1, Kuopio

The dinner includes a welcome drink, a three-course meal, two glasses of wine, and coffee or tea.

The 2026 conference dinner will be held at the Scandic Hotel, beautifully situated by Lake Kallavesi. Delegates will be welcomed with drinks on arrival, followed by a three course dinner.

The hotel is conveniently located near Kuopio city center, just a 20-minute walk from the market square. Tickets for the conference dinner must be reserved and purchased when registering for the Conference.
