Welcome to the world of escape game pedagogy!<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Sm4rt LOC <\/strong>is a globally unique laboratory and learning observation classroom<\/strong> at the University of Eastern Finland<\/strong>. It has been designed specifically for the development, implementation, and research of educational escape games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2020, the University of Eastern Finland has developed and applied escape game pedagogy as a pedagogical approach that supports learning, and implementations have utilised the Sm4rt LOC escape game laboratory. Escape game pedagogy<\/strong> is an educational approach in which elements of escape games are used to support learning across different educational levels and subject areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This website serves as a home base for escape game pedagogy for anyone interested in the topic. Its aim is to provide research-based knowledge, introduce the Sm4rt LOC learning environment and related activities, and bring together development projects and open resources that support the design and implementation of educational escape games. The resource bank also includes ready\u2011made pedagogical escape games for educational use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
