He is currently acting as a Senior Inspector at the Medical Devices Unit of the Finnish Medicines Agency Fimea. In addition, he is conducting scientific research and supervising university students in the Sleep Technology and Analytics Research (STAR) group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His current research is focused on development of novel wearable sensors and machine learning solutions for personalized diagnostics and prognostics of sleep disorders (obstructive sleep apnea, sleep bruxism). In addition to scientific publications, his work has led to commercialization of the scientific innovations. He involved to the development of an EEG electrode set for emergency medicine. This BrainStatus EEG-electrode set (Bittium Corp.) is patented, CE-approved and currently marketed globally (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bittium.com\/products_services\/medical\/bittium_brainstatus\">https:\/\/www.bittium.com\/products_services\/medical\/bittium_brainstatus<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The research is highly innovative and primarily seeks solutions for important diagnostic shortcomings in clinical medicine. For example, our new facial electrode set (BruxHome) represents a new frontier for diagnostics of sleep disorders by enabling fully self-administrated sleep study at home for the first time.
