{"id":178,"date":"2026-04-15T11:01:38","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T08:01:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.uef.fi\/talons2026\/?page_id=178"},"modified":"2026-04-15T11:39:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T08:39:09","slug":"instructions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sites.uef.fi\/talons2026\/instructions\/","title":{"rendered":"Instructions for presenters"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>If you have any questions about the instructions, please contact us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Equipment provided:<\/em>\u00a0desktop computer connected to a projector, podium with microphone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Presentations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each session has a chairperson: A chairperson acts as the facilitator and host of a panel, ensuring it runs smoothly, stays on time, and remains engaging for the audience. They are responsible for setting the tone, managing the schedule, and bridging the gap between speakers and attendees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each session includes 4 presentations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The time allocated for each session is 70-85 minutes based on the panel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Time allocated for each presentation is 12-15 minutes, depending on the panel, to be confirmed by the respective chair.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is recommend that all questions be asked at the end of the panel, as opposed to right after each presentation, to assure that each speaker has equal time for their talk.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Submitting Presentation Slides<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In accordance with the panel schedule, all digital presentation materials (e.g., PowerPoint presentations) must be sent to the organizers no later than <strong>May 26 at 6:00 PM<\/strong> (Finnish time).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please submit the slides using <a href=\"https:\/\/link.webropolsurveys.com\/S\/2BF88C9C0518BBE6\">this web form<\/a>. Files must be named like this: <em>TALONS_PXX_your surname<\/em>, where PXX is the panel number. For example, <em>TALONS_P03_Smith<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Files must be in <strong>.pptx or .pdf format<\/strong>. If you are sharing a link to your presentation, please ensure the settings allow <strong>\u201canyone with the link\u201d<\/strong> to view and download the file.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Including audiovisual material is at your own risk. If you wish to test your presentation, you may do so between 8:30 and 9:00 AM on Thursday, May 27.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you do not submit your slides by the deadline, it will be assumed that you will be presenting without slides or other supporting materials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Uploading presentations during the panel or between presentations will not be permitted.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Presentation files will be used solely for the purposes of the conference.
