Humanistic Futures of Learning

Participating in educational progress is one of UNESCO’s fundamental missions. The UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs Programme brings together more than 700 higher education and research institutions around the world to pool intellectual and material resources and to advance knowledge and ideas in a multicultural and interdisciplinary context.

As a member of the UNITWIN network, CePCO is particularly pleased to announce the publication of a new book. The fruit of reflections shared among colleagues and institutions members of the network, “Humanistic Futures of Learning” aims to “generate an agenda for global debate and action on the futures of education, learning and knowledge in a world of increasing complexity, uncertainty and precarity”. Organized around five themes such as “responsible citizenship” and “rethinking learning systems”, this book presents a selection of contributions from some 100 authors.  Among them, Jérôme Rossier and Jonas Masdonati represent our research centre through their participation in a chapter on “Lifelong learning, counseling and life designing to promote careers for the future”.

The book can be freely consulted and downloaded by clicking on the link on the top right.

In addition, UNESCO invites networks, partners, students and everyone else to contribute to the work of the International Commission on the Future of Education. To do so, three modalities of engagement are available online: https://en.unesco.org/futuresofeducation/how-contribute

We also remind you that the UNITWIN international seminar will take place at UNIL on 5 and 6 March, on the theme of decent work and sustainable development. We will also be pleased to invite you to the opening of the book “Repères pour l’orientation” edited by Jonas Masdonati, Koorosh Massoudi and Jérôme Rossier, which will take place on March 5.
