PhD Axel Kaehne was born in Berlin (Germany) and educated at Free University and Humboldt University. He subsequently studied at Aberdeen University and the University of Wales. He settled in South Wales in 1996 and currently lives in Liverpool. He is Professor of Health Services Research at Edge Hill University Medical School and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Integrated Care and the Journal of Health Organization and Management. Axel is also a member of the Advisory Panel of the Leadership Observatory NHS England and a member of the Bevan Funding Committee of Health Service Delivery Research at the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).\r\n\r\n<\/p>\n \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

He holds the position of Associate Professorial Research Fellow and serves as the Director of the Care Policy and Evaluation Centre (CPEC) at LSE. Additionally, he is the Director of the NIHR Policy Research Unit in Adult Social Care (ASCRU).\u2028\u2028 \r\nDr. Fern\u00e1ndez’s research expertise lies in the fields of health and social care economics, with a particular focus on long-term care, ageing-related policies, and the integration of health and social care systems.
