EU supports social work education collaboration with Nepal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The University of Eastern Finland\u2019s Department of Social Sciences has received funding   of 846,126\u20ac to develop social work practice education in Nepal from the Erasmus + Capacity Building for Higher Education Programme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project \u201cEmpowering Social Work Practice Education in Nepal<\/em>\u201d aims at enhancing the development and sustainability of the social work profession in Nepal and will be implemented over a two-year period, from 2026 to 2028. The project is implemented together with three Nepali universities: Tribhuvan University, Mid-Western University and Purbunchal University, as well as two European universities: University of Ostrava (Czech Republic) and the National Distance Education University (Spain). In addition, the Social Work Association of Nepal will also partner on the project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership holds significant relevance for the social work profession, creating  a conducive environment for social work professionals in Nepal to collaborate, advocate, and contribute to positive social transformation. Investing in social work has a positive cascading effect that benefits individuals, communities, and society as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Increased impact of the project will be gained through the active participation of other Nepali higher education institutions that offer social work programmes, and 100 social work agencies that will provide student field placements, train social work educators as field supervisors and support student learning through practical engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erasmus+ Virtual Exchanges projects (EVE)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Erasmus+ Virtual Exchanges projects (EVE) consist of online people-to-people activities that promote intercultural dialogue and soft skills development. They make it possible for all young people to access high-quality international and intercultural (both formal and non-formal) education without physical mobility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are two targets for this application: 1) Western Balkans and 2) Sub-Saharan Africa, Southern Mediterranean countries and Eastern Partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the call 2022 the deadline for applications will be on the 20th of September 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

European Commission\u2019s executive agency EACEA will arrange an application information webinar about the call 2022 of the Erasmus+ Virtual Exchanges on Wed 15 June 2022 at 15.00 \u2013 18.00 Finnish time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2025-2027<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Erasmus+ Programme invites Higher Education Institutions<\/strong> (HEIs) to apply for the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education<\/strong><\/a> (ECHE), an essential certification for participation in Erasmus+ activities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This call is an opportunity for HEIs to demonstrate their commitment to the principles and standards of the Erasmus+ Programme<\/strong>, thereby enhancing their capacity for international cooperation and mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Programme Overview<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The ECHE is a quality certification<\/strong> awarded to HEIs that meet the operational capacity and quality standards necessary to participate in the Erasmus+ Programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So by obtaining the ECHE, institutions affirm their dedication to modernisation and internationalisation through student and staff mobility, as well as transnational cooperation projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Dates and Submission Details<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The call for proposals, ERASMUS-EDU-2022-ECHE-CERT<\/em>, is open for submission with multiple cut-off dates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. January 28, 2025<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. January 27, 2026<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. January 26, 2027<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Organisations must submit their application by 17:00 Brussels time<\/strong> on the respective deadlines. Results will be announced in July each year<\/strong> following the submission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
