Call for papers

The symposium consists of individual presentations, poster sessions and thematic workshops. These may be held in Finnish, English or Swedish. Other languages are possible but they should be confirmed with the organizers in advance. In particular, we encourage the use of endangered languages. If the presentation uses several languages, please indicate in the abstract in which language or languages it can be followed.

Abstracts for presentations and workshops should be submitted by 18 August 2025 Acceptance will be announced by 1 October 2025. The final deadline for registration and payment of the symposium fees is 15 October 2025.

Individual presentations

Presentations will be allocated 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of discussion. We invite abstracts of up to 300 words, including references.

Posters

The size of the posters is A0. Poster abstracts must not exceed 300 words, including references.

Thematic workshops

Thematic workshops will be either 90 or 180 minutes long and they will include several thematically con- nected presentations. Workshops can also include introductory or final discussions. The hosts of the workshop decide on the length of the presentations and other modes of operation. The convenors of a workshop are asked to submit a description of the theme of the workshop (max 500 words). The convenors will also submit the individual abstracts (max 300 words, including references).

Other information

The authors of individual presentations, posters and workshop presentations should be members of AFinLA or another member organization of AILA, and if the presentation has more than one author, at least the first author should be a member. In joint submissions, this applies to at least one of the authors. Instead, the workshop facilitators must all be members.
