Welcome to Joensuu

AFinLA Autumn Symposium 2025 – Strength in variation

Tervetuloa Suomen soveltavan kielitieteen yhdistyksen AFinLAn vuotuiseen syyssymposiumiin Joensuuhun 6.–8.11.2025! Symposiumin teemana on Voimaa variaatiosta – Strength in Variation – Vägie variaciespäi – Variationens kraft.

  • Linguistic variation in language teaching and education
  • Multilingualism and linguistic variation in the workplace
  • Multilingualism, variation, and well-being
  • Linguistic variation, minority languages, and language revitalization
  • Variation and receptive multilingualism
  • Variation, translation, and translator training

We also welcome presentations on all other areas of applied linguistics.

Presentations

Oral presentations

The university halls are equipped with standard computer and data projector equipment. The computers in the presentation rooms use Office 365, so please use PowerPoint for your presentation. If your presentation includes video or audio files, we recommend embedding them in the PowerPoint presentation.

We ask presenters to bring their presentation slides or other materials on a USB stick during the break before their session. This ensures smooth transitions between presentations and avoids technical issues.
