Parkkinen (2024). Innovation embedded in a storytelling system: An antenarrative construction of multistakeholder innovation

Summary: This dissertation explores the role of storytelling in fostering multistakeholder innovation, using an antenarrative approach. Through qualitative research on personalized medicine in Finland from a business perspective, it found that storytelling is used to align diverse stakeholder interests and anticipate future paths of multistakeholder innovation. This work brings value for those studying systemic and sustainable innovation by highlighting the importance of emerging narratives in driving dynamic and unfolding innovation processes.

Usefulness of the results: The results of this research can be used to emphasize a systemic view of innovation, highlighting the interconnectedness of various stakeholders and their roles in the innovation process. Additionally, the results underscore the importance of emerging narratives in driving systemic innovation, which can be useful for studying the integration of sustainable practices in multistakeholder settings.
