Computer vision identifies the endangered Saimaa ringed seal – enables protection of the species (13.5.2019)

The highly endangered Saimaa ringed seal is characteristic to the Finnish lakelands and something Finns feel strongly about. The seal population must be preserved not only because of this, but also for reasons pertaining to natural history.
