UEF builds capacity in fisheries and aquaculture education in Kyrgyzstan

The University of Eastern Finland and the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University (KNAU) are partnering to build capacity in fisheries and aquaculture training in the Kyrgyz Republic. The two universities have collaborated earlier with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and funding from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland under two initiatives, ‘’Support to fisheries and aquaculture in the Kyrgyz Republic” where the universities focused on training fisheries and aquaculture specialists;  and “Towards sustainable aquaculture and fisheries development in the Kyrgyz Republic”, where the universities focused on the development of fisheries and aquaculture curricula.
