Aisha Khairat holds an MA in Educational Leadership with a concentration in School Leadership from the Graduate School of Education at the American University in Cairo, Egypt, and a Bachelor of Science with high honors in Computer Science, with a minor in Business Administration, received in 2008.

Aisha’s research interests are rooted in issues of social inclusion, citizenship, experiential learning, critical pedagogy, and the transformative work of educational philosophers such as John Dewey and Paulo Freire. These interests converge with her passion for educational innovation, leadership, empowerment, alternative education, and educational reform. Her ultimate purpose is to leverage the power of education to uplift underprivileged communities in Egyptian hamlets, addressing their most pressing problems through social enterprise education in community schools.

Aisha is also the Co-Founder and Managing Director of the Social Enterprise Academy (SEA) in Egypt, the 14th hub globally of SEA International. In this capacity, she has successfully led the delivery of transformational and accredited learning and development programs in Leadership, Enterprise, Learning, and Social Impact to social entrepreneurs, school pupils, university students, underprivileged communities, NGOs and corporations.

As an Educational Leadership Consultant since September 2016, Aisha has collaborated on strategic initiatives, including co-authoring a plan for 100 Girls-Only Schools aligned with the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood (NCCM), feasibility studies and recommending skills and programs for new universities, evaluating the educational processes in underprivileged schools, assessing teacher performance, and providing valuable consultations to enhance classroom effectiveness among others.

Aisha is also an Adjunct Faculty at the Department of Management, School of Business at the American University in Cairo teaching Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
