Ruotian is a doctoral researcher on the INTEL project, which is supported by ERC grant and funded by the European Union. His research focuses on applying computational and statistical approaches, such as machine learning, natural language processing, and transitional network analysis, to advance legal research, specifically in developing the general doctrine of energy law within a European context.

Ruotian has a solid foundation in mathematics and statistics, and he is passionate about applying quantitative methods to the interdisciplinary research. Working with both legal professionals and computer science researchers within the INTEL project, Ruotian is quick to pick up new skills and good at translating complex technical concepts for non-experts.
