Hannaneh Moradi: Believe in our power to be anything we want

BELIEVE IN OUR POWER TO DO ANYTHING WE WANT: BELIEF IS NOT ENOUGH, WE SHOULD DO SOMETHING FOR IT. SO, MAKE YOUR DREAMS OBJECTIVES, AND ACHIEVE THEM WITH CONSTANT, CONFIDENT, CONSCIOUS, AND PASSIONATE EFFORT.

My name is Hannaneh Moradi, I was born and grew up in Amol, a beautiful city in the north of IRAN.

On 12.12.2022, I started a new chapter of my life, when I packed all my stuff and moved from Tehran to Kuopio to work on an amazing Ph.D. project the “NEURO-INNOVATION”. I am a new Doctoral Researcher in the Neuro-Innovation Ph.D. Program.

I believe according to our characteristics, skills, and behavior, we all have a unique and specific way of life. I am thrilled that I found my way, and it is through research, study, and work in Innovation Management and Strategy. The appeal, complexity, and vital role of management to me go back to the fact that we have seen that organizations and companies can be prosperous if they have excellent management, even without the perfect engineers, the latest technologies, and the most capable employees. If the management of the affairs is not proper, the companies’ outstanding capabilities and resources will not be fruitful. Hence, I am interested in researching the effects, roles, and how to install the science and art of management.

After receiving my bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering at Shomal University, I changed my field to Business and Management. I did my master’s in Business Administration at AllamehTabataba’I university and my major was Strategic Management. So, my master’s degree was a new beginning for my academic education. After my master’s I continued my research, study, and effort in the Strategic Management world as a research assistant and strategy specialist at Iran Strategist Group. On the other hand, I was looking for an interesting and relevant Ph.D. position to continue my educational journey.

Finally, I chose the Neuro-Innovation Ph.D. program for the next step of my education as it is unique and scientific; the main focus of this program is research on developing brain health innovation and impact, also it is a multi-disciplinary project. I am lucky that I am one of the doctoral researchers in this program.  While this program aligns with my interest and academic background, allows me to use my experiences and learnings in a scientific, practical, and professional environment.

So, I am here in beautiful Finland to experience, research, work, enjoy, and live my Ph.D.

My Ph.D. Project

My project focuses on the Strategic management of international research collaboration, specifically the STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT OF AN INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH COLLABORATION NETWORK, under the supervision of Professor Tero Montonen (Primarily Supervisor) and in the multidisciplinary NOVA Research Group at the UEF Business School led by Professor Päivi Eriksson. Professors Simcha Jong, Alina Solomon, and Miia Kivipelto are my other supervisors as well.

My doctoral research will adopt an organization and management theoretical perspective to study research collaboration and coordination in a global health research network. In my Ph.D. project, I will examine the practices of strategic management in the context of international research collaboration in the field of health research. With a strategic management theoretical framework, I will examine how research collaborations at the international scale are organized and led with a strategic long-term perspective, including collaboration with partners and stakeholders.

One of the interesting parts of this project is the combination of management science with health science and a multi-disciplinary orientation which could result in new ideas and scientific outcomes. Moreover, utilizing and developing my knowledge of Strategy and management to research, work, and study in Innovation Management is a fascinating part of the project for me.

This Ph.D. study aims to study and examine innovative methods, and theories, and finally, present a theory in the field of strategic management and internal and external coordination to establish an organization and process orders in international scientific cooperation.

In my perspective, innovation means looking at the issue in front of you from a new and different angle, and if you don’t find a new angle, create a new one to face that issue, and do it by combining your knowledge, skills, experience, and senses.  The complexity and intense competition in today’s business world, as well as uncontrollable progress in scientific research, have made innovation and innovation management one of the main components of every organization, institution, company, and research group; without creating, using and expanding innovation, it is difficult to imagine a successful future and progress for them.

The innovation management in the field of health, the cooperation of researchers with expertise in different fields, and the scientific effort to create and apply innovative knowledge in health science motivate me to play an effective role in this project as a researcher in the field of strategic management and innovation.

I am in the beginning stages of a wonderful scientific journey and this was a general brief overview of my background and what I want to do for my doctoral study. It is an important part of my life, I do want to put all my passion, love, knowledge, and effort into it. Furthermore, With the support and advice of my prodigious supervisors, I am following this path.
