We are looking for two postdoctoral researchers to join Peat&Trees research group at School of Forest Sciences, University of Eastern Finland!
Have you already finished your PhD? We’re looking for post-doctoral researchers to join our team to assess what long-term records of peatland greenhouse gas exchange are revealing, and to characterize the ongoing shifts in peatland vegetation as a response to climate change and restoration. The kick-off event for Centre of Excellence in Peatlands, Climate Change and Ecological Restoration took place in Joensuu in January 2026. The event gathered a bunch of peatland scientists, and YLE news as well.

The Research Council of Finland has selected 11 new CoEs for the 2026-2033 programme period.
Two of them were selected from University of Eastern Finland. In addition to our Centre of Excellence in Peatlands, Climate Change and Ecological Restoration, James Blandes’ Centre of Excellence in Antropocenic Chemical Ecology of Forests (ACE-Forest) was selected for the programme.
