About the conference
In an increasingly interconnected world, digital technologies are reshaping how we learn, work, participate, and collaborate across societies. While digital transformation creates new opportunities for innovation and development, it also raises important questions about equity, inclusion, and the capacity of individuals and communities to shape their futures sustainably.
The SANORD 2027 conference “Agency, equity and inclusive innovations in a digital era” provides a platform for scholars, students, practitioners, and policymakers to explore how technological and social innovations can contribute to more equitable and inclusive societies, while closing the digital divide.
The conference welcomes critical and solution-oriented perspectives on education, environment, governance, health, sustainability, and community development amid rapid digital change. Grounded in rights-based, human-centred and decolonial approaches, the conference explores how innovation can be connected with accountability, accessibility, participation, inclusion, epistemic justice, and the fair distribution of benefits and risks.
The conference especially seeks contributions that address interdisciplinary approaches, North-South partnerships, and the role of higher education institutions in promoting inclusive and sustainable digital futures.
