Welcome to the world of escape game pedagogy!

Sm4rt LOC is a globally unique laboratory and learning observation classroom at the University of Eastern Finland. It has been designed specifically for the development, implementation, and research of educational escape games.

Since 2020, the University of Eastern Finland has developed and applied escape game pedagogy as a pedagogical approach that supports learning, and implementations have utilised the Sm4rt LOC escape game laboratory. Escape game pedagogy is an educational approach in which elements of escape games are used to support learning across different educational levels and subject areas.
