Pre-conference
Pre-conference workshop “Interpreting Visual Cultures and Using Visual Methods in Psychological Research” conducted by Sarah Awad.
Title: Interpreting visual cultures and using visual methods in psychological research
Description: In this workshop, we discuss different approaches of interpreting images in everyday visual culture and using images as research tools in psychological research. I present a theoretical and methodological approach that builds on the idea of following the social life of images as they are transformed by different social actors through time in public space. This approach highlights how images acquire and transform meanings and how they can have an influence on people’s ways of thinking, feeling, and remembering.
