Code of conduct

The TALONS Conference organizers at UEF are committed to providing a professional, respectful, and safe environment for all participants. By attending the conference or any associated event, participants agree to uphold the following standards. 

Professional Conduct: 

Participants are expected to: 

  • Treat all attendees with courtesy, professionalism, and respect. 
  • Support an environment that encourages the free and open exchange of ideas. 
  • Conduct themselves in a manner appropriate to an academic and policyfocused event. 
  • Follow all instructions from conference organizers and venue staff. 

AntiHarassment Policy: 

Harassment in any form is strictly prohibited. This includes: 

  • Discriminatory or offensive comments related to gender, gender identity or expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, or religion. 
  • Intimidation, stalking, or unwanted following. 
  • Unwelcome photography or recording. 
  • Inappropriate physical contact or sexual attention. 
  • Use of sexualized language, imagery, or materials in any conference setting. 

Sponsors, exhibitors, and affiliated staff must also comply with this policy. Participants asked to stop inappropriate behavior are expected to comply immediately. 

Consequences of Misconduct: 

The organizers may take any action deemed appropriate, including: 

  • Issuing a warning 
  • Removing the individual from a session 
  • Revoking conference credentials 
  • Expulsion from the conference  

Serious incidents may be referred to venue security or local authorities. 

Reporting Concerns: 

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please notify conference staff immediately. Staff will be identifiable by official conference badges. Organizers will assist participants in contacting venue security, law enforcement, or other support services as needed. 

All reports will be handled discreetly and professionally. 

Identification Requirements: 

All conference spaces are private event areas. 

  • Only registered participants or invited guests may enter. 
  • Participants must wear their official conference name badge at all times. 
  • Individuals without proper identification may be asked to leave or register. 

Recording and Photographing Policy: 

To protect intellectual property and ensure open dialogue: 

  • Audio or video recording of sessions is prohibited without explicit consent from the presenter(s). 
  • Unauthorized recording must stop immediately upon request. 
  • Continued refusal may result in removal from the session. 

Accredited journalists must register at the conference desk and adhere to this policy.
