Climate and air quality impacts of boreal forest fires

The project investigates emission factors for greenhouse gases and aerosol species from boreal forest fires. The project combines extensive field and laboratory measurements to reveal dynamics and characteristics of emissions and their transformation in the atmosphere. Finally, the collected data is implemented into global and regional atmospheric models to assess climate and air quality impact of the smoke emitted by boreal forest fires.
