Reports & Presentations Nord+ IP 2026

During the 15 days of the Nord+ 2026 IP in Sweden a key component of the course was to carry out a field study and produce an analytical report about a given problem. In this IP the fieldwork and report focus was in direct collaboration with a set of 10 municipalities as well as with the Region of Östergotland. Focus was on municipal and regional border areas and their potential for sustainable development as part of (cross) municipal/regional strategies. The reports aimed to analyse the perspectives from the border regions, the municipal and regional strategies and root their findings also in academic rural development literature. The results which have been shared with the municipalities and other stakeholders can be seen below and also have been presented at an online seminar including all participating municipalities as well as additional regional stakeholders.

While the report provide a wide variety of highly valuable results and suggestions it should still be pointed out that the participating students conducted the work under a rather strong time pressure and not all groups contained a native swedish speaker. So this is a limitation which should be taken into consideration when looking at the reports. Nonetheless, all reports provide very useful and valuable data and components that are more than worthy to be considered by municipal and regional policymakers.
