Payment

The participation fee is paid when registering for the event. When you click the registration link (above) and fill in your details to the registration form, you may pay the conference fee and optional conference dinner via the Paytrail payment handling service. The fees can be paid by MobilePay, Pivo, bank transfer, credit card and the online banking system of Finnish banks.

Possibility to apply for an exemption from the participation fee
We also want to enable the conference participation of those who might not have the financial means to pay the participation fee. For example, you might be a student, asylum seeker, undocumented, pensioner, single parent, or otherwise in a critical situation. If you wish to apply for an exemption from the participation fee, please send a short (maximum one page), free-form application to the organizing committee. We will accept a limited number of applications for free participation.

ETMU MEMBERSHIP
The participation fee is lower for the members of the Finnish Society for the Study of Ethnic Relations and International Migration (ETMU). In order to apply for ETMU-membership, please visit the ETMU membership page and fill out the application form.

Please note that you will need to pay the membership fee directly to ETMU. You cannot pay the membership fee through the conference registration system.

The ETMU membership fee is 30 € (regular), 20€ for students (graduate studies), unemployed, and pensioners. There is also a supporting membership fee of 50€. Please make sure to apply for the membership and pay the fee well before the closing date of the registration. If you fail to apply for the membership in time, you will need to pay the higher participation fee for non-members.

ETMU’s membership administrator is Ilkhom Khalimzoda (ilkhom.i.khalimzoda[at]jyu.fi. He will contact you once your membership has been accepted.

BOMOCULT MEMBERSHIP

Borders, Mobilities and Cultural Encounters Research Community, BOMOCULT RC, is one of the University of Eastern Finland’s strategically significant research communities. RC’s recent research has linked the transformation of contemporary societies with socio-cultural processes of border-making and border-crossing by addressing European borders and Russia, mobilities and migration, and cultural and linguistic encounters in their diverse contexts.
