Welcome to NOVEL: a pioneering Postdoctoral Programme at the University of Eastern Finland!
NOVEL is an innovative postdoctoral programme hosted by the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) in Finland, co-funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) COFUND under the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme.
NOVEL offers 14 postdoctoral fellowships in brain health research across different disciplines with the opportunity to design your own research project for 3 years.
The world needs novel solutions to address brain health challenges that impact individuals and society. Research is needed to support early prediction, personalized treatments, advancements in methods and technologies, and the development of responsible innovation and ethical approaches.
To address this, NOVEL focuses on pioneering research in brain health. We combine expertise in neuroscience, data science, innovation management, health economics, and legal studies.
Our programme provides interdisciplinary and intersectoral postdoctoral training in four key areas of brain health research:

- Methods and Data
- Innovation and Society
- Ethics and Well-being
