Question: I am a citizen of Finland. Can I apply?
Answer: The NOVEL MSCA Postdoctoral programme is open to researchers of all nationalities. If you are Finnish, you are eligible to apply if you have not resided and carried out your main activities in Finland for more than 12 months during the last 36 months immediately before the call deadline.
Question: How do I find supervisors from whom I can ask a letter of support?
Answer: You can start by reading the descriptions of the available research areas and research groups working in each area in this page. We have included contact details of each group leader there. Also check out interviews of research group leaders on our playlist in YouTube. We have also all available supervisors listed alphabetically on this page.
Question: What is the deadline for applying?
Answer: Call 1 starts on March 1, 2025 and the call closes on May 31, 2025, at 16:00 (UTC+2/Helsinki).
Question: What are the criteria for elibigility to apply?
Candidates must fulfil the following criteria to be eligible to apply:
- hold a PhD degree (or equivalent, incl. a research-based thesis) by the end of the closing of the call.
- have less than 7 years of research experience.
- fulfil the mobility requirement of the MSCA actions: at the time of the call deadline, the applicant must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies) in the country of their host organization (Finland) for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before the call deadline. Applicants can be of any nationality, returning residents of Finland are eligible too!
Please note that you also need to possess at least one Letter of Support from a host research group at UEF to be able to apply!
