Provide measurement, analysis, and development assignments for our students

The working life-oriented laboratory activities of the Department of Physics and Mathematics provide companies with free access to high-quality equipment and the expertise of our students. Companies can commission small-scale measurement, analysis, and development tasks with photonics students, and students earn academic credits as part of their degree for their work. The collaboration fosters low-threshold interaction between the business world and the university, enabling the development of broader collaboration models with technology companies of all sizes across Finland. Through collaboration, companies gain student contacts with an eye toward future employment needs, while our students accumulate practical skills and knowledge of career opportunities in the field.
