Registration

All participants and presenters must register for the conference and pay the registration fee. Registration opens on May 10th. Early-bird fees are valid till June 30th. The deadline for all registrations is August 9th, 2024. An article in conference special issue requires a presentation at a conference.    

Conference registration fees 

Face-to-face 

  • 120 € till 30th June 2024.  
  • 160 € between July 1st to August 9th, 2024; Deadline for registration August 9th, 2024.
  • UEF Staff registration fee 100 € till 30th June 2024; it increases to 160 € between July 1 and August 9, 2024.
  • PhD students at University of Eastern Finland are able to apply for the free onsite participation; please note that there are limited places available. This free entry does not include dinner and requires presentation at the conference. Apply for this opportunity through an open-form application, flaiec@uef.fi. Deadline for registration June 30th, 2024.

Online participation 

Online participants are welcome to all sessions and keynote speeches in the programme. 

  • Online participation is free when the registration is done before June 30th, 2024
  • 50 € between July 1st to August 9th, 2024

Included in the registration fee (for one person) 

  • admission to all sessions  
  • conference materials (face-to-face participation only
  • lunches and coffee/tee during breaks mentioned on the programme (face-to-face participation only
  • conference dinner on Monday September 16th (face-to-face participation only)

Registration forms 

There are two forms, one for all guests, one for participants from University of Eastern Finland. Please register for the conference by clicking the online registration form links below. After completing the registration, you will receive a confirmation email, check the spam folder, if needed. Important: Saving the email is strongly advised, as it includes both the details of your registration and the link for the cancellation form.

Registration ONLY for UEF staff 

Payments

The registration fees include the VAT 0%. Please note that all payments must be made in advance and in euros. Payment type option for participants outside UEF is credit card. 

Payment option for UEF staff: invoice. When using the (internal) invoice, add university’s own billing details, and the code of your department or project/department depending on who is paying the invoice. Please note that UEF’s credit card is not valid for payment. For those considering the free onsite participation option for PhD students, kindly review the instructions above and submit your application prior to registration.

Accompanying persons are welcome to join in the evening programme, i.e. the conference dinner on September 16th, 2024. Price for their dinner is 80 €. The participant attending to conference should include accompanying person for dinner in their own registration for the conference by choosing “Dinner for non-participating avec”. Registration only for the dinner is not possible. Accompanying person who wants to join whole conference, should register by themselves and pay the registration fee. 

In the registration form, kindly inform us if you are available to chair a session.  

Cancellation policy  

Registration can be canceled free of charge until June 30th. If the registration is canceled after June 30th and before August 9th 50% of the participation fee will be charged. Thereafter, the participation fee will be charged in full.  

The cancellations are made by using the link given in the registration confirmation email. 

In case of unexpected reasons, on-site participation can be changed into online participation: however, paid registration fee will not be reimbursed.
