FAQ – 50th Anniversary Symposium of Neuroscience 

When and where is the symposium? 

The symposium will take place on 15–17 June 2026 at the Kuopio Music Centre, Kuopionlahdenkatu 23, 70100 Kuopio, Finland.

When does registration open? 

The registration desk in the main lobby opens on Monday 15 June: 

  • 10.00 for poster presenters 
  • 11.30 for other participants 

The info/registration desk is then open throughout the symposium during program hours. 

Is lunch served on Monday? 

Yes. A salad lunch will be served on 15 June at 11.30–13.00 before the opening of the symposium. 

Is parking available? 

Parking near the venue is limited. 

Options include: 

  • Kuopio Music Centre parking area – free parking in front of the main entrance; on event days, the 2-hour limit is not in force 

Where can I find the program? 

The symposium includes keynote lectures, scientific sessions, poster presentations, panel discussions, and a symposium dinner.

Can I participate online? 

Yes. The event will be streamed live, and the recording will be available until 31 August 2026. You must register to get access to the link. 

What is the dress code? 

Smart casual 

When are the poster sessions? 

Poster sessions take place during coffee breaks: 

  • Mon 15 June: 15.30–16.00 
  • Tue 16 June: 10.30–11.00 
  • Wed 17 June: 10.00–10.30 

Presenting authors are requested to be present during the sessions, if possible. 

Is there a reception? 

Yes. The  Symposium Reception will be held on Monday 15 June at 18.00–19.00 at  Kuopio City Hall. The reception is open to all participants and does not require separate registration. 

When is the symposium dinner? 

The Symposium Dinner will take place on Tuesday 16 June at 19.00 at Hotel Scandic Kuopio, Satamakatu 1.

Is Wi‑Fi available? 

Yes. Free Wi‑Fi is available at the venue. Network details will be provided at the info desk and on the screens of the venue. 

Is the venue accessible? 

Yes. The venue is fully accessible. If you have specific accessibility needs, please contact the organizing committee in advance. 

What kind of weather should I expect? 

June in Kuopio is usually mild, around 15–22°C during the day. 
As lecture halls are air-conditioned, layered clothing is recommended. 

Will photos or videos be taken? 

Yes. Photography and video recording may take place during the symposium. Materials may be used by the organizers for communication, reporting, and social media.
