  • Lejish Vettikkat

I am a doctoral researcher in the Aerosol Physics Research Group at the University of Eastern Finland. My research focus is on utilizing chemical ionization mass spectrometry (CIMS) to perform ecosystem-scale exchange of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), their oxidation products and ammonia using eddy covariance technique.

  • Iida Pullinen

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Aerosol Physics Research Group at the University of Eastern Finland. My research interests include the properties and formation of biogenic aerosol, and how changes in ecosystems may be reflected in the aerosols.

  • Santtu Mikkonen

I am Research Director at the UEF, currently in the research group in Environmental Epidemiology, but I have long history (and still one foot partly) in Aerosol Physics Research Group. My main research interests lie in statistical analysis of the emissions from on-road vehicles and health effects of atmospheric pollution and changing climate.

  • Elisa Männistö

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Peatland and Soil Ecology Research group (Peat&Trees) in University of Eastern Finland, Joensuu campus. I am interested in ecology and carbon dynamics of boreal peatland ecosystems under the changing climate. Currently, I study how vegetation impacts greenhouse gas fluxes (CO2, CH4, BVOCs) in boreal peatlands.

  • Magdalena Held

I am a doctoral researcher in the research group Boreal Trees and Climate Change (INAR/Forest Sciences). My focus is on wood anatomy and growth. I am analyzing the dimensions and growth dynamics of water conducting cells, and how environmental conditions affect those.

  • Egle Köster

I am a project researcher in the Peatland and Soil Ecology Research group (Peat&Trees), and coordinator of the Biosphere Laboratory of Eastern Finland (BioLab) in University of Eastern Finland. I am interested in how the climate change affects boreal peatland ecosystems. Currently, I study the effects of drying trends on the development and functionality of peatland vegetation.

  • Taija Saarela

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Biogeochemistry Research group in University of Eastern Finland, Kuopio campus. My studies focus on the dynamics of dissolved organic matter (DOM) and greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, CO2 and methane, CH4) in boreal and arctic freshwater ecosystems.

  • Oskari Kangasniemi

I’m a doctoral researcher in the Aerosol Physics Group in Tampere University. My main interest is studying the volatility and evolution of traffic-related particle and gas phase emissions in the atmosphere using measurement data and modelling.

  • Tero Siili

I am since April 2021 research coordinator for the Finnish Meteorological Institute’s ACCC Flagship activities and also contribute to the joint operations of the ACCC. The Flagship’s higher-than-usual emphasis on the societal impact of research is a particularly motivating feature.

  • Ali Kooh Andaz

I’m a doctoral researcher in the Aerosol Physics Group at Tampere University. I use CFD simulations to study the behavior of particles, specifically, particles deposition in different conditions.

  • Anna Lintunen

I am a university researcher in INAR and docent in tree ecophysiology. In the ACCC research flagship, I am one of the leaders in the Research Program 1. I study how boreal forests respond to changing climate and how forests affect the climate.
