Taina Yli-Juuti

Taina Yli-Juuti, PhD, Associate Professor

Taina Yli-Juuti received her PhD degree at the University of Helsinki, Department of Physics in 2013. She worked as post-doctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki, Department of Physics, during years 2013-2014 and at Max Planck Institute for Chemistry, Multiphase Chemistry Department, during 2014. She joined the Aerosol Research Group at the Department of Applied Physics at the University of Eastern Finland in 2014.

Research interests

Taina Yli-Juuti’s research interests are on the dynamics and thermodynamics of aerosols, especially the formation of secondary organic aerosol and the growth of newly formed atmospheric nanoparticles. The focus of the research is on the role of organic vapors in the nanoparticle growth, particle phase processes, thermodynamics of condensation, properties of organic compounds and interactions between organic and inorganic compounds.
