Special sessions
- Free word Tuesday 17:30-19:00. Mic is open. Share your memories, anecdotes and photographs of Jari.
- Short talks Wednesday 15:10-17:00. In the spirit of Inverse days, we’re going to be experimental, and try out a new session form; one of the afternoon sessions will consist of short talks (5 min pitches on your research topics). This special session is meant to be a relaxed one — also the bar will be open.
- Industrial session Thursday 10:00-12:00. Over the years, the Inverse Days has seen several presentations by company representatives among the other presentations, without any special sessions or forums. This year we decided to start a new dedicated session called the Industrial session, the aim of which is to provide a centralised forum for companies to present their scientific research to the other conference participants. The purpose of the forum is to act as a good conversation starter for increasing co-financed research activities between companies and academic sector, and on the other hand to increase the companies’ visibility for academic researchers and vice versa.
- Helsinki tomography challenge Friday 9:50-11:00. In 2022, the Inverse Problems Research Group at the University of Helsinki organised the Helsinki Tomography Challenge. The task of the challenge was to compute high-quality reconstructions in limited angle X-ray tomography with increasingly difficult datasets measured in our X-ray laboratory. We received 9 entries and saw some truly astounding results. In this special session, the top 3 contestant teams will talk about their reconstruction techniques and solutions.

Instructions for the Presenters
Each session room is equipped with a Windows PC/laptop with Internet access, an audio system, and a data projector. Please bring your presentation on a USB flash drive/memory stick. To minimize technical difficulties, we recommend using a PDF or PowerPoint presentation. Each computer has a Windows media player if you wish to play video/sound clips.
Please note that it is recommended to use the computer of the session room, but if you want to use your own computer, the connectivity of the hardware should be tested well in advance of the start of the session. Furthermore, if you intend to use your own Mac computer, please bring your adapters for connecting your laptop to the data projector.
To minimize the possibility of technical problems, it is recommended that you upload your files or test your computer on the break before your session starts.
