University of Eastern Finland, Joensuu campus | 19–20 November 2026

The 2026 Finnish Gender Studies Conference is rescheduled to 19–20 November 2026. The reason for rescheduling is the lack of accommodation available in Joensuu during the Kontiolahti Biathlon World Cup in 26–29 November. Pre-conference program including the writing workshop and open panel discussion is rescheduled to 18 November. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The 2026 Finnish Gender Studies Conference invites participants to consider rights and wrongs, as well as the various forms of feminist resistance to injustice. Organised in collaboration between Gender Studies and the Law School, the conference centres on the complex connections and related entanglements between gender and justice. Scholars in Gender Studies and related disciplines are invited to explore the frameworks, trajectories, and patterns through which rights and wrongs are understood, enacted, and contested.

We invite presentation proposals for the conference by 20th May 2026.

Organisers:
