Climate, Nature & People: Advancing the Global Mutirão Vision

As the climate and biodiversity crises intensify, the COP30 Presidency has introduced the idea of a global mutirão: a collective, community-driven effort to accelerate action across governments, cities, businesses, Indigenous Peoples, science, and civil society.

At this side event, we explore what this vision means in practice. We’ll discuss how climate and nature action can move forward together—fairly, effectively, and with integrity.

Guiding questions:

· How climate and nature action can be better integrated

· What high-integrity voluntary and subnational action requires

· How to strengthen the Global Climate Action Agenda / Global Mutirão

· Whose voices and knowledge must be centered for just and lasting change
