European Association of Climate Law (EACL) 2nd Annual Conference – Climate Law 10 Years after the Paris Agreement

The Second EACL Annual Conference on “Climate Law 10 Years after the Paris Agreement”, will be held in Helsinki, Finland, on 17–18 September 2026. The conference will be hosted by the Center for Climate Change, Energy and Environmental Law (CCEEL), Law School, University of Eastern Finland.

Ten years after the Paris Agreement entered into force, we invite contributions that take stock of its achievements, identify outstanding challenges, draw lessons learned, and assess the state of climate law across governance levels. We welcome abstracts on a wide range of topics, including:

  • The current state of international climate law
  • The past, present, and future of EU climate law 
  • Comparative and domestic climate law in Europe and beyond 
  • Assessing and (re)imagining theory and methods of climate law research 

The conference will also include an Early-Career Research Workshop open to students, PhD candidates, postdocs, and junior faculty.

The participation fee is €50 for participants with an academic affiliation and €150 for participants without an academic affiliation.
